Trust Representing Involved Alabama Lawyers (TRIAL)
Started early in 1974 by members of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, this political action trust fund is financed entirely by contributions from ALAJ members.
Legislative advocacy is the backbone of democracy, providing a platform for the average citizen to influence and shape the laws that govern their lives. ALAJ’s lawyers are well-positioned to be the torchbearers of change, leveraging their skills to navigate the intricacies of legislation and advocate for policies that promote justice and equality. Contributing to TRIAL can make a lasting impact on the legislative landscape of Alabama.
Funds are used to support candidates for the state legislature and for state offices such as Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General and the Alabama appellate courts.
Why contribute?
Contributing to ALAJ’s political action committee is a powerful way for individuals to actively engage in shaping the political landscape. Every contribution, regardless of its size, carries significance. The collective impact of numerous small donations can be transformative, fueling campaigns, advocating for meaningful policies, protecting the right to trial by jury and supporting candidates who align with our shared values.
A contribution to TRIAL is not a condition of membership in ALAJ. Your contribution to TRIAL is voluntary; no member will be subject to reprisal for declining to contribute. The amounts listed are merely suggested sums. You are free to contribute an amount other than what is suggested.
Contributions made to TRIAL are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal Income Tax purposes. Contributions to political action committees are not tax deductible. Federal law requires political action commits to report the name, mailing address, and amount of contribution.
