Amicus Curiae Committee

What is the Amicus Curiae Committee?

The primary mission of the Amicus Committee is to represent our organization and its members in presenting exhaustively researched arguments to Alabama’s appellate courts to assist in the rendition of justice for our members’ clients and all our state’s citizens.

Beyond its primary mission, the Amicus Committee is also dedicated to educating the ALAJ membership about new or developing issues of substantive and procedural law. The Committee’s hope is that, by helping the membership present the best arguments in the most persuasive manner, issues will not only be preserved for appeal but also properly adjudicated at the trial court level. The Amicus Curiae Committee is but one way ALAJ seeks “justice for all."

Committee Members

The Amicus Curiae Committee of the Alabama Association of Justice is a dedicated group of members who are charged with reviewing all applications for amicus briefs proposed to be filed in the name of the Association.
